The Inside Scoop with Tamar Bates: Episode 10 – Scoop, Fino, Malik, Kaleb, and CJ

June 26, 2022 By Jerod Morris Leave a Comment

The Inside Scoop is back!

The tenth episode of The Inside Scoop with Tamar Bates presented by Speakeasy Sales Copy, began with this text message from Tamar to Jerod: “The freshman want to hop on an episode with us.”

So they did. And the resulting episode is filled with insight from four freshmen getting their feet wet in Bloomington and a now-grizzled sophomore who is ready for his second go-around.

The best part about this episode is the moments when it stops feeling like a podcast episode and instead feels like a brief peek into what the locker room banter is like between five guys who clearly have built quick chemistry.

Highlights include:

• Tamar’s reaction to being named a top-25 breakout candidate in college basketball
• What it’s like playing for Mike Woodson
• The time one of them decided it would be a good idea to talk trash to X in the locker room
• The evolution of Scoop’s trash talk
• Thoughts on playing such a marquee schedule
• An impassioned debate about Indiana high school basketball. (You’ll never hear the word “tiddlywinks” the same way again.)

And so much more. Plus a game of “Teammate Trivia” to wrap things up.

I was mostly just a fly on the wall for this one. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
