Indiana’s Big Ten Tournament run ended today as the Hoosiers lost 79-71 to the Wisconsin Badgers in the quarterfinals. Wisconsin was able to get out to a 25-15 lead early thanks to some hot 3-point shooting, which never ended, and though the Hoosiers cut the deficit to one on numerous occasions, they were never able to get over the hump.
Indiana lost 57-50 to Wisconsin tonight. After a slow initial start, the Hoosiers actually led for the most of the way, but Wisconsin took the lead in the final 10 minutes and never gave it back.
Many IU fans were frustrated with the officiating, and rightfully so, but ultimately this loss came down to IU committing too many unforced turnovers, missing a few key free throws, and not securing defensive rebounds at winning time.
But there are also many positives to take from the game, including the confidence that IU played with for most of the night in one of the Big Ten’s toughest arenas.
