Every time Victor Oladipo has a performance that you think he can’t top, he goes and does something like he did tonight…and totally exceeds himself!
Still dealing with a tender ankle, Oladipo made up for any physical limitations by playing perhaps the grittiest, toughest, smartest game of his career. As he does so often in big games, he made big play after big play, finishing with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals. His rebound putback, breakaway dunk, and two free throws iced the win…
…The first win for Indiana at the Breslin Center since 1991, which is what made this one of the most satisfying Indiana wins in recent memory.
In addition to Victor, Cody Zeller played a solid game, and Christian Watford made a number of big plays. Jordan Hulls hit big 3s, and Yogi Ferrell was outstanding defensively, harassing Keith Appling into a supbar performance against the Hoosiers.
We start the latest victorious episode of The Assembly Call talking about Victor’s superlative play and end it the same way. In between, we talk about everything else. One of the more fun shows we’ve ever done.
