Friday night, the #1-ranked Indiana Hoosiers did exactly what a #1- ranked team should do against an inferior opponent: they imposed their will and cruised to an easy victory.
But it took a little longer than some may have expected for the rout to commence. Bryant actually led 15-14 at the under-12 minute timeout in the first half. From there, Indiana went on a 40-15 run into the 2nd half to put the game away.
The #1 storyline from the game was Yogi Ferrell’s stellar debut. The freshman point guard finished with 10 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, and was everything he’s been advertised to be.
Cody Zeller and Christian Watford chipped in with double-doubles, and Jeremy Hollowell and Remy Abell were conspicuously productive off the bench.
All in all, it was a great first game out for a team with championship aspirations. And we broke it all down on the first episode of the second season of The Assembly Call.
(By the way, my apologies for my crappy audio starting out. I was trying a new setup and it didn’t work. But I quickly fixed it, so don’t bail on the show because of that! Especially since Ryan reads a text from a friend about 45 minutes in that is well, well worth the wait.)
